Archaeological strata and artifact layers are highly sensitive to any mechanical disturbance. A core that destroys more than it reveals fails to serve its purpose. STUBORE® is designed differently: The core does not rotate during the drilling process. Consequently, the material remains in its original location, even in sensitive stratigraphic sequences or find layers.

Flushing fluid is used only to the extent that it is truly necessary for stabilization or core recovery. Fine particles and small artifacts are thus better preserved. The recovered cores enable stratigraphic documentation and serve as a basis for further archaeological investigations and targeted test excavations.
